Pre-Lecture Self Integration Directions
By following these directions provided, you will be well-prepared to succeed in your Pilates Teacher Training journey.
Using your Pilates Guide Manual:
Read & Study Pages in The Pilates Guide Manual assigned for each Module’s Exercises.
Pay attention to the CATEGORIES for each Exercise that are part of your recipe for success: Starting Position/Position Set Up, Movement Sequence, Cueing and Imagery, Purpose of the Exercise, Precautions for Client Contraindications, and Challenges.
Look for modifications – defined as a change or adjustment made to an exercise to accommodate different abilities, limitations, or needs of the individual performing it. It often involves altering the intensity, range of motion, or equipment used to suit the participant's level.
A variation refers to a different version or alternative form of an exercise. Variations may offer a different challenge or target specific muscle groups in a unique way while maintaining the basic movement pattern of the original exercise.

Integrate the exercises by practicing them yourself and attending the self-integration workshops with your Master Educator or Teaching Assistant.
Fill in the Critical Thinking Worksheet for each exercise to the best of your ability. If there are parts of the worksheet you are not able to complete, you may complete the worksheet during the classroom lecture.
Turn in your completed Critical Thinking Worksheets to your Master Educator for credit toward your Apprenticeship Hours.
Remember that it is normal not to be able to execute every exercise perfectly at the start, and in some cases, certain movements may present challenges. Progress comes with practice, and practicing is a key component of this program. One of the most rewarding experiences as a Pilates teacher is witnessing your students’ improvements and, especially, those breakthrough moments when they master a movement.
